Flash! On the iPad! And you can do it right now! Well, if you have a jailbroken iPad. The process doesn’t seem that hard but you can definitely muck things up if you poke your finger in the wrong spot.

The general gist on getting Flash on the iPad is to download and install ‘Frash.deb’ onto your iPad and then create folders with specific names while sprinkling in some restarts. Yeah, it’s not super simple and you could run into some snags but if you follow the directions to the T, you should be okay. Hopefully.

Unfortunately, Frash doesn’t do video playback and it’s kind of crashy so it may not be worth the risk yet. For now, you can just play Flash games, see some light animations, and drain your battery super fast. That kind of sounds fun, actually. [Engadget]

Dell on Tuesday announced launch plans for its Android-based Dell Streak handheld tablet , while also confirming that the device will get an upgrade to the Flash-capable Android 2.2 later this year. The Streak will launch in the U.K. in early June and the U.S. later this summer, but the company did not provide specific launch dates for either country’s launch. No pricing or U.S. carrier details were announced.

Dell first introduced the Streak in January during the Consumer Electronics Show; since then, specs for the device have been made public through a combination of company statements and periodic leaks to gadget blogs .

The Dell Streak Will Flash

As expected, the Dell Streak will have a 5-inch WVGA touchscreen, Qualcomm’s 1-GHz Snapdragon Processor, 2 GB internal storage, maximum 32GB of external SD storage, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, and a front-facing camera for video chat. The Streak will also have 3G, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity.

At launch, the Streak will be running Android 1.6 (Donut), but the device will receive an over-the-air upgrade to the new Flash-capable Android 2.2 (Froyo) later this year, a Dell spokesperson confirmed. The mini tablet will also come pre-loaded with Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube apps, and Google Maps featuring free turn-by-turn navigation.

What About the Looking Glass

Absent from Dell’s Streak announcement was any mention of the rumored Dell Looking Glass, a 7-inch tablet computer with no front-facing camera. Rumored specs for the Looking Glass include a 7-inch screen with 800 by 480 display resolution; 3G, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity; 4GB RAM; 1.3 megapixel camera; and an optional TV tuner.

Intel expanded its processor family today with six new chips, each designed to make ultraportable notebooks thinner, lighter, and with 32% better performance. We’re talking laptops less than an inch thick with ULV Core i7 inside. That’s just beautiful.

The new mobile Core processors—based on the same 32-nanometer chip design the standard voltage i5 and i7—promise 15% less power consumption and a 30% thinner form factor without sacrificing key features like Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost. They’ll also be 15% more power efficient, although actual battery life expectations are still TBD.

Apple on Tuesday released an updated line of its MacBook Pro portable computers, adding in faster processors, new graphics chips, and a longer-lasting battery.

The 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pros saw the biggest jumps, as they now use Intel’s Core i5 and i7 processors. Designed with a 32-nanometer process, the Core i5 and i7 sport integrated memory controllers and Level 3 caches. A Turbo Boost feature lets the dual processor cores optimize their performance, allowing speeds of up to 3.06GHz for dual core tasks, and 3.33GHz for tasks involving just one core.

As with the previous iterations, both the 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro models feature two graphics processors, in this case the Nvidia GeForce GT330M for high-performance needs and the Intel HD graphics for more power efficiency. And in an improvement over the last generation, Apple says the system will automatically figure out which graphics processor is needed for a program or operation, and switch as necessary to give you both the best in performance and battery life.

Apparently Apple MacBooks sold from May of 2006 to December of 2007 are having hard drive problems and are prone to failures under certain conditions. So Apple created MacBook repair extension program for hard drive issues.

Apple has determined that a very small percentage of hard drives that were used in MacBook systems, sold between approximately May 2006 and December 2007, may fail under certain conditions.

If your MacBook was purchased in the date range listed above and shows a flashing question mark on the screen, please take it to Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider and they will examine the hard drive to confirm if it is eligible for a replacement, free of charge, under this program.

That other tablet that was announced just a week ago sure doesn’t seem to be setting Fusion Garage’s Joojoo off course. Not only did it see an increase in orders after the iPad announcement, but Fusion Garage CEO Chandra Rathakrishna just told us that production of the 12-inch tablet has kicked off and that the product is on target to start shipping this month. And it doesn’t sound like legal fees fromfighting the TechCrunch lawsuit over the product are depleting Fusion Garage’s bank account: Chandra told us it’s teamed up with OEM CSL Group of Malaysia, which will be footing the bill for manufacturing in exchange for a “low single-digit” percentage of product revenue. We have our doubts about the math, but we’ll see how happy everyone is if and when the Joojoo starts shipping. (We’ll also see if James Cameron notices that Fusion Garage keeps using unlicensed Avatar images in its promo pictures.)

Chandra still wouldn’t budge on revealing what’s powering the device, but he was more than happy to confirm that the tablet will support full Flash at launch, and HD Flash content once Flash 10.1 is officially released — YouTube HD will play right now using a separate player plugin that takes advantage of GPU acceleration. “We have a bigger ‘app store’ than Apple because we have the full Internet,” he told us. Nevertheless, Fusion plans to launch a “web store” that will allow people to find web applications on the Joojoo. Speaking of Apple, Chandra was quite blunt about the iPad: “Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.” No really — he told us everything from Steve Jobs calling the iPad a “magical product” to the couch being on stage during the keynote to the $499 price point was a nod to the Joojoo, since “juju” is an African word for “magical” and the Joojoo was positioned as a couch computer when it launched in November. Uh, sure. Trash talking aside, we’re very excited to see what this thing can do — a 16:9 720p tablet that can play Hulu sounds pretty interesting to us.

So MSI debut a Tegra powered 10 inch tablet at CES couple of weeks back. The MSRP is reported to be $500 but there might be different models at varying prices.

This thing would be able to multi-task, probably has a webcam, and actually supports Flash? I’m sold… screw the pretty giant iPhone iPad…

Can’t wait for this to come out!
